I love them all <3 Oil is awesome, shadows blend so good and the painting itself looks wonderful, I really like oils, but I hate how much time they spend in drying and all the mess as well, you can't clean your pencils with just water, it's annoying to use thinner :/
Watercolors are my favorite, they kind of look like copic markers Which I love! But the problem is once you've painted you can't correct mistakes D: But watercoloring is my fav definetely even if I can't use them so well ~_~
Acrylics are good as well, they dry very fast, I don't use them so much, nor am I an acrylic fan
I love Water Colour personally beacause i havnt used oil much for myself, Water colour i think takes more Skill, Acyllic on the other hand is hard beacause u gotta wait for it all to dry before carrying on.
I am not compatible with liquid art tools. Watercolor/acrylic are impossible. I do like to play with oil paint on rare occasions since it's nice and thick and good for painting trees, but it's such a big process to set up all the supplies, get the room ventilated, and then clean everything back up after I'm done. I might get into it if I had a room dedicated to oil painting though... Keep all the supplies laid out on a table, cover the floor in something cheap so I can beat the paint thinner out of my brush Bob Ross-style, put in a good ventilation system, and just leave it messy all the time :-P
I'm torn between Oil and Acrylic, I KNOW it's weird considering the FUN we had in both painting classes BUT I like acrylic cuz I can go over stuff without the colours blending so much and I like oil cuz I love the look of it.
can't pick if i want watercolor or acrylic.... but when i paint, I usually paint the base color with acrylic, let it dry a bit so it's still a little bit wet (actually, i can't wait so i dry it off with an electric fan or sometimes hair blower..) then use watercolor for shading.. I kinda think it's messy... o.o"
me too,if you're really good with watercolor, the picture will come out really awesome and it can be used with so many other different media like makers and color pencils. oil paints can be really messy and if you're not that good with it,your like "F@<k this paint!" but if you're really good with it,the paintings come out beautiful.for me,the most eye opening paintings are the oil paintings, watercolor paint for me wins most difficulty.
I agree. I voted watercolor because it's what I use most, but really it's too difficult to choose between watercolor and oil. I love all the fun textures you can achieve in watercolor through the use of things like salt, cling wrap, gauze, etc. But on the other hand, I LOVE the feel of oil paint. It's so creamy, and the colors blend so beautifully together. Oil has an amazingly slow drying time, and watercolor can be reworked once it's dry (though be careful not to wear out the tooth of the paper).
